A meaningful start on site has now been made at Taymer care home in Bedford following the successful planning approval granting permission for a replacement 60 bed care home with associated car parking and landscaped garden.
The contractors have started work on the drainage swale trench to the boundary of the site which will provide an attractive landscape feature as well as allow the management of surface water on the site.
The swale uses a system of Naylor Enviroflow planks. The trench is lined with a geotextile membrane and the Enviroflow planks which create a flow corridor. It is then surrounded with stone and topped off with free draining top soil. This will also allow for future provision connecting into the flow control chamber, when the main works are completed.
We will look forward to seeing how this project progresses.
