Conrad Quast
Senior Architect

What do you do at Carless + Adams?
As Senior Architect, I take projects from inception to hand-over. The projects range from small refurbishment extensions to new build and refurbished care homes and assisted living projects. The role also requires the co-ordination of Principal Designer aspects, including BSA.

Why did you get into architecture?

Love. I was deeply in love with an architectural student!  She studied in Berlin, so I joined her and started studying architecture as well.
Needless to say the relationship never stood the test but I became hooked on architecture!

What do you do outside of Carless + Adams?

Lots!

+ long distance hiking (carrying everything on my back)

+ volunteer for the National Trust in the Surrey Hills

+ military reenactment  – early medieval Norse, Tudor and Jacobean periods

+ music (not show stopping, but passionate) including the whistle, recorder and German bagpipes (Huemmelchen – German renaissance bagpipes)

+ training to become a snorkel instructor with the Dorking Snorkelling Club

…and then I rest!
