What do you do at Carless + Adams?
After contributing to RIBA Stage 3, as the Lead Designer, I take the project through the remaining RIBA stages to completion; handling day to day issues, including any design changes from both the Client and the Main Contractor. Having been in the business many years, I also have a technical mentoring role to our fantastic Architects, making sure that their concepts can be built.
Why did you get into architecture?
I have always enjoyed the drawing side, from drawing board to the latest software. Seeing a design from concept to turnkey. Every day is different and knowing what I have built will be there for another 50 years gives me the job satisfaction. Edwin Lutyens is my inspiration…
What do you do outside of Carless + Adams?
Mainly enjoying watching my son play rugby, having a laugh and reading history.
