Carless + Adams have just submitted a planning application for a new 66 bed care home in Lancing, West Sussex for Vesta Care, part of Anavo Capital. This will be dedicated to residents with varying types of dementia and care needs, and will replace the existing 30 bed care home that exists on the site. The new care home will provide high quality care and offer residents the very best environment to thrive in with a range of communal / activity spaces.

We have had in-depth discussions regarding the development of the site with Adur and Worthing Council and the resulting scheme brings a home that will provide a high standard of living and communal accommodation utilising a mix of traditional and modern materials in a modern contemporary style.

The domestic scale of the building aims to reduce the ‘institutional feel’ that some care homes can have with the feature gables helping to further break the building down and provide a varied street scene. The new scheme boasts attractive views to the sea, with both communal rooms and bedrooms taking advantage of these and the interior design follows the client’s concept of achieving an open, fresh and vibrant atmosphere to the care home. Creating environments like this, makes the prospect of care a far more attractive option for the residents whilst providing the most up to date facilities to help the carers do the best job they can.
