Carless + Adams have submitted a planning application for a new Care Home at the site of Robertson Nursing Home in Godalming, Surrey for Beritaz Care Ltd. This seeks to replace the existing outdated 42 bed care home with a modern purpose built scheme. This will ensure the site can continue to serve its established purpose whilst providing the residents with the level of care that best suits their current and future needs.

The development will be phased so the existing nursing home can remain in operation as the new building is constructed. Upon its completion, the 65 bed care home will provide the highest levels of care for the elderly residents requiring specialist nursing. It will also meet the increasing demand for such provision of care beds in the area.

The building has been designed with a mixture of red brick, sage horizontal cladding and colourful roof slates to emphasise the traditional style of this two-storey care home. To ensure that the building is viewed as homely and domestic, sage barge boards to the gable ends and bay windows have been proposed. The diverse range of materials suggested will complement the rural environment and help to visually break the building up.
