Forsham House, Kent
Project Brief
Outcome
Set in the Kent Downs, comprises of two separate blocks, one housing an 87 bed care home and the other 12 assisted living apartments and an on-site doctor’s consulting room. Other facilities for the residents include a restaurant, spa, gym, library, cinema room, hair salon and EV supercharge points within the 23 under croft car parking spaces accessed from the concealed driveway.
The care home has been designed to be able to provide for the full range of care needs for an individual, including complex nursing care and for those living with multiple long-term conditions. Key areas designed include controlling how visitors and staff enter the home via separate entrances, and providing ample storage space throughout the new home for an appropriate stock of PPE.
The design, set in a slopping site with a fall of 9.5 metres, has been optimised to make the most of the falls and generous floor to ceiling glazing is positioned to allow residents to have access to the views.
