The Vale Crematorium
Project Brief
Design a modestly sized new crematorium with the ability to be used for secular and multi faith purposes.
Outcome
The final single storey crematorium includes a chapel, seating for 98 people, a waiting room, accessible public toilet, administrative offices and crematory. Public parking for 76 cars is provided to the front of the chapel, whilst to the rear there is a small service yard and staff parking.
The Chapel building is to be finished in white render with an extensive natural slate roof and porte cochere supported on laminated timber frames. The offices are differentiated in brick with a glazed entrance porch with laminated timber posts.
The memorial park will contain a range of formal and informal landscaped areas, a scattering lawn and space for “living memorials”, where the bereaved may dedicate a tree to their loved ones.
Work started on site in February 2018 with EnCon Construction being the Main Contractor, and was completed in October 2018.
This sees Carless & Adams complete our third crematorium over a 2 year period for Westerleigh Group.
