It’s almost farewell 2025 and welcome 2026. After more than 7 decades in business, we’ve had yet another brilliant year here at Carless + Adams, even those infamous planning consultations with endless questions about the designs! We thrive in these sessions as it gives us the opportunity to show our knowledge in the sector, answer the detailed questions and meet people from across the country. The memories from 2025 from planning consultations don’t always stem from the meetings, but more the memorable journeys to get there…..one sweaty June afternoon stuck on the M25 threatening to make us late struck a cord…..
Being able to visit projects that range from breaking ground to meeting residents really reinforces why we do what we do. Chatting to local mayors about the importance of elderly accommodation provision, to family members wondering around a care home garden spending precious time with their loved one, to care givers whose day has been made more efficient due to design really hits home. We feel very lucky that we are able to make a difference to people’s lives.
2025 in numbers for us:
82 designs created
97 new projects
45 site inspections
5 planning approvals/consents
2 ground breaking sessions
31 events attended either for speaking or exhibiting
2 awards judged
2 graduation ceremonies for newly qualified Architects
11,668 social media engagements
Plus one amazing summer event with the Chelsea Pensioners, numerous shared lunches/puzzle days/board game nights/pool competitions topped off with a sparkly Christmas event in Ascot for the team.
Woah, no wonder we felt busy! We’re in the midst of designing more care homes, dementia care home, IRC, extra care centres, healthcare centres, renovations and intergenerational homes and 2026 sees quite a few projects completing with residents moving in. Not bad considering that going from planning to inhabiting can take up to 5 years.
For now we will sign off and wish you well. The team are off shortly to eat their body weight in chocolate and sprouts washed down with mulled wine. We’ll be ready to go again on Friday 2nd January – refuelled by special time spent with our families and much merriment and laughter.
See you then!
